How To Jailbreak iPhone 4 / 3GS On iOS 4.3.2 Using PwnageTool 4.3.2 And Not Upgrade Baseband

Since Apple released their iPhone device everyone wants to have one. The same happened with their iPod and iPad, but some of the lucky owners of the devices seems that had enough of the restrictions of Apple gadgets. But in the same time they want to keep their devices up-to-date with the latest firmware on the market.

It seems that the PwnageTool coming from iPhone Dev Team have now been updated to 4.3.2 version. PwnageTool 4.3.2 is now able to handle untethered jailbreak for devices using iOS 4.3.2 using i0n1c’s exploit. The software developed by iPhone Dev Team, PwnageTool 4.3.2, supports devices like iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod, iPad touch 4G / 3G, and Apple TV. As you probably saw, iPad 2 is missing from the list of the devices supported by PwnageTool 4.3.2.

Pwnage Tool works best for the iPhones that has a carrier unlock. We recommend you PwnageTool 4.3.2 to update your iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.2 as it allows you to preserve your baseband, so you won’t have to use Ultrasn0w to unlock it. For you, Windows users, you can use Sn0wbreeze 2.6 to jailbreak your iPhone 4, as well.

Now let’s see how to jailbreak iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.2 using PwnageTool 4.3.2 without upgrading the baseband:

  1. First you have to download PwnageTool 4.3.2 for Mac from here

  2. Download iOS 4.3.2 for your device. Choose the iOS 4.3.2 firmware appropriate for your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Apple TV

  3. Open Pwnage Tool 4.3.2. Make sure you start the application in “Expert mode,” the choose your device

  4. Navigate and select the iOS 4.3.2 firmware for your device. You should be able to find it in the location you downloaded it to

  5. Create a custom iOS 4.3.2 firmware file. Do this by selecting the “Build” button. Remember to keep your baseband if you are using an unofficial carrier, so then you can unlock it using Ultrasn0w (do this by choosing “Activate the phone” option, listed under “General” tab)

  6. Now PwnageTool 4.3.2 creates a custom .ipsw file that will be used to jailbreak your iPhone 4 / 3G S

  7. Put your iPhone in DFU mode using Pwnage Tool 4.3.2: press and hold together the “Power” and “Home” buttons for 10 seconds; release the “Power” button and continue to press and hold the “Home” button for 10 more seconds, then your device should go in DFU mode

  8. After you start iTunes, select the iOS device from sidebar menu in the left of iTunes window. Hold the “Alt” (option) button if you are using Mac, or “Left Shift” if you are using Windows, click “Restore” button in iTunes, then release the button. Be careful not to click the “Update” or “Check for Update” buttons.

  9. Navigate and provide iTunes with the location of the .ipsw file you created at step 5, then click the “Open” button

  10. Now all you have to do is wait. Make sure you won’t interrupt the update process, as this might brick your device. The installation process takes around 3-5 minutes to complete, but don’t panic if it takes a little bit longer. Once the process is finished your iPhone 4 will be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.2.

Now, once you jailbroken your iPhone device on iOS 4.3.2, you can download free Apple applications and enjoy the features of the new firmware in the same time.
