How To Use A Microsoft PowerPoint File As A Screensaver

As you probably know by now, Microsoft PowerPoint is specially created as a creation tool, but the great news is that it can also be used to create very great screen savers. Let me tell you that you can assign each slide in your presentation with an image in a Windows screen saver.

The bad news is that Microsoft Powerpoint doesn’t have a predefined option so users can save presentations as screen saver files, but it can save a presentation as a series of images. After that you can use the Windows’ default Photos screen saver to use those images, each time the computer switches to the screen saver.

  • Go to Start menu and type ‘PowerPoint’ in the Search bar. Then launch PowerPoint app. Go to File tab => Open. Find your presentation and insert it.

  • Choose ‘Save As’ in the ‘File’ tab.¬†Select “JPEG File Interchange Format” in the “Save As Type” drop-down box. Use the ‘File Name’ text box to enter the desired name for your presentation. ‘Save’ to save your presentation. Now, to save the presentation as an individual image click ‘Every Slide’.

  • Now exit to your desktop and click ‘Personalize’. So you can pop-up the screen saver settings window, click the ‘Screen Saver’ button.

  • In the ‘Screen Save’ select ‘Photos’. Click ‘Settings’ and then ‘Browse’. Now find the folder where you have saved the PowerPoint presentation. Click ‘Save’ and then ‘Ok’.
