How To Disable Group Policy In Windows XP

If you have Windows XP and if want to disable the Group Policy read the following article. Like a short description, the Group Policy allows you to set rules for a computer account or for a user, logger in to the XP system. If you want, you will be able to disable the Group Policy, but after that you will be unable to change any settings.

Here are the steps for How To Disable Group Policy In Windows XP:

  1. First you must to click on the “Start” button, and then click on the “Restart” button.

  2. Now you must to press “F8″ when the screen is blank.

  3. Now the “Windows Advanced Options Menu” screen will appear.

  4. You must to use the keyboard(arrows) for select “Safe Mode” and then press “Enter”.

  5. After your computer starts you must to click on the “Start” button and then go to “Run”.

  6. In “Run” you must to type “regedit” and then press “Enter”.

  7. Now you must to double click on “Computer” and then you must to double click on “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and then click on “Software”.

  8. You must to double click on “Polices” > “Microsoft” > “Windows”.

  9. Now you must to click on the “System” and then click on “Edit”.

  10. You must to select “New” and then click on “DWORD (32-bit) Value”.

  11. Replace the “DWORD” key with “DisableGPO”.

  12. Finally you must to double click on “DisableGPO” and then type “1″ in the “Value” box and click OK.

  13. Don’t forget to restart your computer once.
