But remember that Facebook dose not allow symbols or numbers in the name field, and all the changes you made must be approved.

So, let’s see how to change name on Facebook:

  1. After you logged in to your Facebook account, you should be able to see the “Account” button in the the top right corner of the page

  2. Click on the “Account” link and then, from the drop-down menu, select “Account Settings”

  3. In the “Settings” tab, click on the “Change” link under the name field (first field of the “Settings” tab)

  4. Here you can do all the changes that you want. The “Alternate Name” can be used for making your pals find you a lot more easier. So, if you are a girl, using your maiden name in the “Alternate Name” field will help your friends (for example your high school friends) find you a lot more easier. The “Alternate Name” field is also useful if go by a nickname for some of your friends. For using the “Alternate Name” you will have to check the “Include this name on my profile” box.

  5. Once you finished changing your Facebook name, click on the “Save Changes” button, and the new name will be available once Facebook verifies and approves it.
