How To Make The Realtek Front Panel Audio Jack Work on Windows 7

The difference between Windows XP and Windows 7 are pretty great when we talk about the install drivers.¬†Windows 7 just doesn’t go bad in recognizes everything except the printers however the front panel audio jack is our problem.

You just can’t plug and unplug cables all the time.¬†Your first solution will probably be to check if Realtek has any Window 7 drivers.¬†Download Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs then install the package.¬†All well for now but the Realtek audio manager does not detect your headphones.

Realtek HD Audio Manager

  1. Go to BIOS setup ( restart your PC and press Del to access Setup )

  2. Select CHIPSET

  3. There are two options for The Front Panel audio configuration and you should select AC97.

  4. Save and Exit the BIOS setup

This solution worked for me and I’ve advised all my friends to try it, too. Guess what? It worked for them and I’m sure it’s going to work for you as well. Let me know if it did in the comments section below.
