The BlockSite extension for Firefox will block all the web pages that you add to ‘blacklist’ and, another great feature of this plugin is the fact that it will change the hiperlinks of the blocked pages into un-clickable text. Also, you can set a general password for the BlockSite, so that only can change the website blacklist. Here are the instructions on how to block websites in Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Launch Mozilla Firefox.

  2. Click Tools and select Add-ons.

  3. Now click on the ‘Get Add-ons’ button.

  4. Select Browse All Add-ons and type-in ‘blocksite’ in the search field. When Mozilla Firefox add-ons opens you will have to press the Enter key.

  5. Now click ‘Add to Firefox’ text to the BlockSite and after that you need to click ‘Install Now’.

  6. Restart Mozilla Firefox.

  7. Firefox will restart and you need to go to ‘Tools’, select ‘Add-ons’ and then click BlockSite ‘Preferences’ .

  8. Now you have to make sure that the ‘Blacklist’ options is checked along with the ‘Enable BlockSite’, ‘Enable Link Removal’ and ‘Enable warning messages’ options.

  9. Now you have to click on ‘Enable authentication’ and set the password for BlockSite. This will protect it from any user that might try to remove it.

  10. To add a website in the BlockSite blacksite you have to click ‘Add’ and type in the URL address of the web page that you wish to block. Press OK. To add another website you will have to repeat this step. When you have finished adding websites you will need to press OK and then restart Mozilla Firefox.
