How To Jailbreak iPhone 4 Running iOS 4.3 Beta With PwnageTool

The iOS 4.3 has been released by Apple a few days ago and currently is a Beta version, but the developers of PwnageTool managed already to jailbreak the iOS 4.3 beta. In this post you can find all the instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone 4 device with the latest version of the PwnageTool.

Also, if you already upgraded to iOS 4.3 and you wish to downgrade to the old iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1, then you should check this post, as it contains all the info on how to do it.

PwnageTool developers used the Geohot’s exploit on Limera1n to jailbreak the iOS 4.3 beta. However this works only for the iPhone 4 and, you will have to wait for a future version of PwnageTool to jailbreak the iOS 4.3 on iPod Touch, iPad or Apple TV. Before you start jailbreaking the iOS 4.3 on your iPhone 4, you need to know this:

  • if your iPhone 4 relies on an unlock, then you should not jailbreak it, because it will also change your iPhone 4 old baseband, which will make the device unusable. Now that you know this and your iPhone 4 doesn’t rely on an unlock, you can start the iOS 4.3 jailbreak process for your iPhone 4.
