How to Install New Cydia 1.0.3366-1 on iOS 4.0/4.0.1/4.0.2/4.1

As you already know, starting from iOS 4.2, Cydia has been updated to a new version (1.0.3366-1 currently ) that is not accessible to old firmware users. This can be very shameful, counting on the fact that the new Cydia version comes with bug fixes and a new UI. So in the following guide you will learn how to install the new Cydia version ( 1.0.3366-1 ) on iOS 4.0 / 4.0.1/ 4.0.2/ 4.1 for iPhone / iPod users or, iPad running iOS 3.2/3.2.1/3.2.2/. This eliminates the need of upgrading to 4.2.1 and jailbreaking with RedSn0w.

For those who are not familiar with the newest additions of Saurik creations, Cydia 1.0.3366-1, we start from introducing the new user interface, which can be visible bellow. Cydia also recognizes the orientation of the device, instead of just being locked in a portrait mode. If you have an iPad, now Cydia 1.0.3366-1 feels more naturally, by using UIPopovers to prevent the light changing when loading and choosing custom packages. Also, packages have now their own tabs, right next to the source tabs.

It’s still a lot work ahead, as the iPhone version of the new Cydia does not support landscape view or has major improvements in the UI. As for what is going under the hood, there were no official announcements made. Saurik only mentions some bug fixes and they seem to be proving, as more and more users describe the portal as being a lot faster.

Made up your mind? Well, that’s good, because in the following line we will start the installation process. Oh almost forgot. You must be jailbroken for this to work so, if you are not, head out to our jailbreaking section in order to get help. The guide can be performed using a MAC or a PC.
