Two Tips On Increasing Broadband Speed

29.08.2009

Increasing the broadband connection speed is something everybody wants, no matter how fast they are downloading data from the internet. Your internet connection can never be fast enough.

Here are some few steps you can follow to drain the most out of your connection.

Step 1. Go to the adressbar and then type in “about:config” . Look out for the following entries in the window that was opened: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Step 2. Set the “network.http.pipelining” and “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true” and the “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to a number between 20 and 30.

Step 3. Right click on any entry you want and then go to New-> Integer. Type “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set it to “0″.

You can rest assured that no harm was done in any case to your connection. Just that the time your computer waits and the number of connections has been optimized.

Another thing you can do, if you are using Firefox, is to install the FlashBlock extension. This will prevent the downloading of Flash content. If you want to allow the download of flash content, all you have to is click the placeholder icon. Why waste bandwidth downloading fancy ads?

There are cases when these two tips use, but there is no guarantee. Try them out to check out their performance for yourself.
